When I visit a city, I make it a point to drop by the local VVV Tourist Information Centre.
I am always looking for the best insiders’ tips.
In Rotterdam, the VVV Tourist Information Centre at Coolsingel is one of the best tourist information desk I have ever encountered. They have a wall full of brochures on all the places of interests, festivals and events happening in the city and surrounding areas. You can obtain free map, buy Rotterdam Welcome Card*, purchase public transportation cards, gift vouchers and tickets to various museums, concerts and tours. There is also a gift shop on site. You might as well check out the exhibition “Rotterdam Discovery” – an overview of the city’s past, present and future. It is free of charge and can be found at the basement level. If there is anything else, feel free to ask the friendly for staffs for guidance!
This Tourist Information Centre at Coolsingel is centrally located near the Beurs metro station, Maritiem Museum and just 5 minutes walk from Markthal. It is housed in the garden of the historic Schielandshuis, a 17th century building with the allure of a city palace. Worth a visit!
Address: Coolsingel 114. 3011 AG Rotterdam.
