One easy way to explore the city center of Amersfoort is to hop on the sightseeing tourist train called ‘Toeristentrein Amersfoort’.
This service is only available from April till October with varied operating hours.
With a Day Ticket of €5.00, you are free to get on and off along the route as many times as you like.
Eemplein – Kleine spui – Westsingel – Varkensmarkt -Zuidsingel -St. Andriesstraat – Binnen de Veste – Achter de Kamp – Grote Sint Jansstraat – Coninckstraat – Scheltussingel – Kamp – Langestraat – Krommestraat – Havik – Groenmarkt – Muurhuizen- Havik-Grote Spui – Eemplein – Eemlaan – Oliemolenkwartier – Eemplein.
A full complete circle route takes about 45 minutes.

During the busy months of July and August, the Toeristentrein Amersfoort runs daily.
Tickets are available on the spot and you can pay by cash or debit card.
This certainly looks like a fun ride to see the historic city of Amersfoort. Unfortunately, I did not have time try this service. Instead, I have chosen to go on a boat tour offered by the same company. More about it coming up tomorrow.

From 1 April – 30 April – Tuesday to Sunday between 1pm and 4pm.
From 1 May – 31 October – Tuesday to Saturday between 11am and 5pm and Sunday between 2pm and 5pm. In the months July and August, additional train service starts at 1pm.
Day Tickets: €5.00 for 13 years and above, €3.00 for kids age 5-12 years old and FREE for all under 5 years old.
