Gelatin: Vorm – Fellows – Attitude
At Museum Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam.
FOUR giant turds sitting elegantly on Persian rugs! 😊
“Vorm – Fellows – Attitude is a celebration of curiosity, of an open mind, and of judgement-free experiences and the absence of hierarchy and social conventions.” – Museum Boijmans van Beuningen
In case you are wondering, the sculptures are made from enormous plaster casts, covered with thick brown clay. They looked like it, but do not smell like it! 😆
The four Vienna based artists collective Gelatin, Wolfgang Gantner, Ali Janka, Florian Reither and Tobias Urban, are known for creating radical and irreverent artworks with humor, absurdity and often encourages public to participate.
That’s why at the start of this exhibition, I was invited to get ‘nude’!
There was a clothes rack filled with skin-toned naked costumes featuring different shapes and sizes of male and female dangling genitalia. Visitors (even the kids!) are welcome to wear a costume and then walk into the ‘excrement’ show. Supposedly to trigger childish behavior to experience these shits!
This monumental modern art ‘shit’ show is open until 12 August 2018.
