A true old-fashioned Dutch grocery shop in the heart of Leeuwarden city center.
Museum de Grutterswinkel is an authentic ‘kruidenierswinkel’ which began in 1901 by family Feenstra. The building itself dates back to 1596. Walk in and freely discover the original interior of the shop, living room, wine cellar and other rooms. That’s the museum feature!
It is also a working store. Get some of the typical Dutch sweets; liquorice, boterboon and hopje. Buy the local Frisian delights such sugar loaf, Frysk Dumkes (biscuit) and Oranjekoek (orange cake). You can enjoy them in that living room along with a fresh cup of coffee or tea.
It is a great way to experience cultural history!
