Rembrandtplein is one of the busiest square in the city of Amsterdam! It was a long early morning wait just to get a decent photo without tourists photobombing me.
Rembrandtplein or Rembrandt Square is named after the famous painter Rembrandt van Rijn who painted The Night Watch.
The statue of Rembrandt was made in 1852 by sculptor Louis Royer in cast iron. It is Amsterdam’s oldest surviving statue in a public space! The rest of the statues are bronze-cast representing his famous Night Watch painting in 3D.
Visit if you have a chance! Great atmosphere all day round surrounded by cafés & restaurants.15621583_1341808382535948_3445848047768143365_n
